Dementia Friendly Communities

Dementia friendly communities are developing across the state and country involving civic, community and business leaders in cities and towns who are striving to create welcoming and friendly environments for their residents with dementia. This effort seeks the input from people living with dementia, as well as their caregivers, in addressing barriers in the community. The goal is to create a community where people living with dementia can remain active and safe.

The Dementia Care Specialist and members of the Eau Claire County Dementia Coalition can provide training to your business, organizations, or church group. By offering this training, you will help your organization heighten its awareness of dementia and be equipped to respond warmly and effectively when serving people living with dementia and their care partners.
